A Heart Conversation With God.

Matthew 12:34
"...For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks."

Proverbs 18:21
"The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit."

Proverbs 10:11
"The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,
but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked."

Last night I was reading my scriptures and really trying to open my heart to the promptings of the spirit. I have been praying for direction lately and have now started to dig into the word and seek it out. How do you receive direction from the Lord? What kind of heart does the Lord reveal direction and guidance to?  These are the questions I have been seeking answers for.  So, last night I was reading Psalm 25. I was praying and meditating on the words written across the page. I am a bible marking woman.  My Bible has notes written in the margins and verses underlined.  It is my sacred journal from God. So, I'm reading and trying to dissect the words line by line and I am drawn back to verses 1 and 2. So, I put a box around them.

" To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
in you I trust, O my God,
Do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me."

I just kept reading it over and over again.  Then I made it my prayer. And I prayed it over and over again. I put my pen to paper and my heart poured out in ink. It is amazing how God can change the direction of a devotion. I was searching for guidance in a situation and God just said to me, "Wait a minute. Be still. You need to let me heal your heart before we go any further."

I believe in the power of words, and the power of lies. I also believe in the power of healing. The enemy is strong, but God is
faithful. Speak blessings over the ones you love. Even speak blessings over the ones who don't love you.

Matthew 12:36&37
"But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

This is God's warning and promise.
